Abstract

Describing a case of laterally ectopic scrotum, Bajaj and Bailey (1969) reviewed the literature and found 13 previous cases reported. Theirs and cases since presented by Mininberg and Richman (1972) and Kernahan (1973) raise the total to 16. In most instances the scrotum contains a normal testis but occasionally an atrophic testis may be found (Milroy, 1969). It is common to find other malformations of the urogenital tract and congenital abnormalities elsewhere (Mininberg and Richman). Transposition of the scrotum and penis is the most common variety. The following case is of the rarer lateral displacement of half of the scrotum.
