Abstract

In order to understand the behaviour of real dynamical impurities in metallic hosts, the scaling approach of Nozieres and Blandin (1980) is almost essential. Here a uniform scaling approximation, a generalisation of Anderson's 'poor man's scaling' but without the spurious divergences of the standard equations, is developed and applied to some simple model systems.
