Abstract

Within a reaction kinetic model of heavy quarkonia suppression, reactive collisions with both hadrons and quasi-free quarks in a hot and dense nuclear environment are treated using a many-quark approach to dense matter. Temperature and density dependent reactive collision frequencies are derived. Results for the E T-dependence of the J/ψ suppression pattern for a simple two-phase hydrodynamic model are obtained and compared with those of a pure hadronic model as well as with those of a plasma screening model for the quark matter phase.
