Abstract
The inadequate recognition of the theological concepts of significant 20th century missiologist Lesslie Newbigin are discussed in light of his marginalisation among Christians, church and academic theology. It is suggested that Newbigin's theology is relevant presently for his efforts to establish an authentic missionary engagement with Western culture through books and the 'Gospel and Our Culture' initiative.
