Abstract

Abstract Modern research has demonstrated a remarkable uniformity in Triassic faunas throughout the Tethyan region. This is true not only for planktonic and pelagic elements but also for vagile and sessile benthic organisms, and involves a surprisingly large number of species of macro- and microfauna, including numerous zone fossils. In this work, further striking microfossil examples are selected from potentially important groups that have been little utilized previously for biogeographical research.
