Abstract

This article studies the presence of French army officers in Argentina between 1955 and 1965 and their influence on the Argentine armed forces. Two main questions are addressed here : on the one hand, the French military mission, considered as an attempt to take the Argentine army out of the American area of influence - an aim supported by many high-ranking Argentine officers ; on the other hand, the activities of former members of the Organisation de l'Armée Secrète (O.A.S.), after being condemned in France and their influence of the Argentine army.
