Abstract

An insurance contract is based on its (risk) premium estimated as exactly as possible, and also on a more intuitive kind of experience which is expressed by the company's underwriting practice. In this article an attempt is made to analyse the internal logic of this intuitive part of underwriting by means of fuzzy set theory.
