Abstract

ABSTRACTThis paper reports on the findings of focus groups conducted with first year undergraduate students at the University of Ballarat. The questions developed for the focus groups were designed to gain an insight into how first year undergraduate students perceive both the information resources they require and the skills necessary to access those resources. In summary, the focus groups revealed much about student perceptions of the information skills that they will require, the experiences that form the basis for these and continuing influences that may lead them to change their perceptions.
