Abstract

Fusion oncoproteins (FOs) resulting from in-frame chromosomal translocations are associated with a growing number of pediatric cancers with poor patient outcomes. The TCF3-HLF FO is comprised of the intrinsically disordered transactivation domains of TCF3 fused to the DNA-binding domain of HLF and is characteristic of an aggressive, incurable subtype of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Previous work has demonstrated that TCF3-HLF acts on super-enhancers to activate a leukemic gene expression program.
