Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the intermolecular interactions in π-formed thiophene oligomers. Utilizing Hirshfeld surface investigations, the intermolecular interaction in the Pi-formed thiophene oligomer has been quantified (PCTO). PCTO is balanced by intermolecular interactions such as C…C, C…N, C…S, H…H, S…S, S…N, and S…H. Out of these H…H and C…S, the associations are dominated by 19% and 8.5%, respectively. Therefore, weak intermolecular interactions in the crystal packing of PCTO have been investigated and evaluated using Hirshfeld surface analysis. The results demonstrate the degree of intermolecular interactions found in PCTO.
