Abstract

In this study, the corrosion properties of Fe-12Cr oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) alloys with and without Si in 650 ℃ supercritical carbon dioxide were studied by multiple characterization techniques. The results show that although the Fe-12Cr ODS alloy without Si exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, the addition of Si can further result in a 10-times slower of corrosion rate without the formation of a SiO2 healing layer. The mechanisms of Si addition on the further improved corrosion resistance of the Fe-12Cr ODS alloys have been discussed in detail by multiple characterization results.
