Abstract

There are very few studies exploring the challenges that Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) students face in nursing education. Focus group interviews of ADN students revealed the themes, regarding their perceived barriers to baccalaureate nursing education, the barriers’ connectedness to their nontraditional attributes, their opinions about lowering the barriers, and their thoughts about the different proposals for advancing nurses’ education. Understanding these variables could help in the efforts to advance their education.
