If international students from the European Union interact with any part of your website, your institution is subject to the E.U.'s comprehensive privacy rules, the General Data Protection Regulations, which went into effect May 25, 2018. The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, along with partners including the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and Educause, among others, has released a guide to help registrars and admissions officers navigate GDPR compliance.
