Abstract

Recent allegations that the University of Virginia was made aware of the gang rape of a student during a fraternity party but did nothing about it have caused irreparable harm to its image and placed it in a legally precarious position. But the allegations also highlight the need to ensure your campus safety department's policies and procedures for dealing with sexual violence are exemplary. And that requires ensuring compliance with the Violence Against Women Act.
