Abstract

Background: No recent large studies in the US have reexamined the etiologies of primary amenorrhea since Reindollar (1981), particularly given increasingly obese and ethnically diverse populations. This study aims to characterize and compare underlying etiologies of primary amenorrhea across ethnic groups in a modern cohort. We hypothesize that PCOS is a leading cause of primary amenorrhea in Hispanic girls.
