Undergraduate military flight officer training: Increasing training effectiveness through job task and training media analysis

Abstract

To enhance interoperability, leverage strengths, and minimize costs, the Department of Defense has emphasized joint training across military services. To support this effort, the Undergraduate Military Flight Officer (UMFO) program is a joint aviation training program for Navy flight officers and Air Force combat systems officers. As part of the UMFO program development, the Navy Human Performance Center was engaged to support the development of training systems requirements and completed a media and fidelity analysis as part of this effort.
