Abstract

This research study attempts to find out the undergraduate entrepreneurial intention among the final year Undergraduates of University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), Sri Lanka and to suggest recommendations to improve the undergraduate entrepreneurial intention. 340 final year undergraduates from five Faculties (Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Technology) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura contributed to this study by responding to a structured questionnaire prepared based on Ajzen (1991) [1] model of Theory of Planned Behaviour with some modifications. The validity and reliability of the study is confirmed, and the data has been analysed using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analytical tools. The data analysis has been conducted through Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 23.0 and the path analysis has been done using Smart PLS. Findings of the study revealed that Attitudes Towards Behaviour, Subjective Norms, Perceived Behavioural Control and Entrepreneurial Education are positively correlated with the Entrepreneurial Intention of the final year Undergraduates.
