Abstract

The author argues that a new curriculum perspective in gerontological education on the undergraduate level should be oriented around the ecology of older individuals with a focus on family, community, and societal issues. A suggested curriculum includes an introductory course in gerontology, life-span core courses, contextual courses on the ecology of older individuals, applied courses and a senior seminar in aging.
