Abstract
The first study results on the Chironomidae fauna of central Namibia (Khomas, Otjozondjupa and Hardap regions) are presented, based on morphology and DNA-barcoding. The preliminary investigation led to the discovery of a new species Paraphaenocladius namibiaesp. nov. (Chironomidae, Orthocladiinae) and 17 new country records for Namibia.
