Abstract

The quasi–one-dimensional organic conductor Bechgaard salts(TMTSF)2X with X = PF6, ClO4,AsF6, etc. are well known for the variety of theirground states: spin density wave (SDW), field-induced spindensity wave (FISDW) and triplet superconductivity. We proposehere that the unconventional spin density wave (USDW) occupies alarge area of the P-B phase diagram, where SDW is suppressedby pressure (P) and superconductivity by magnetic field (B)and FISDW is still absent. USDW describes the striking angulardependent magnetoresistance (ADMR) seen in this area of the phasediagram, when the magnetic field is rotated in thec*-b′ plane. Also the Lebed resonances are naturallyinterpreted in terms of the imperfect nesting term.
