Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Upper Jurassic Akkuyu formation of the Akseki platform is comprised of a 200 m thick unit of organic rich carbonate mudstones. TOC contents range from 0.62 to 19.42% and %Rocal values are between 0.51 and 2.85. Thus, carbonate mudstones of the Akkuyu formation have excellent potential to early-middle mature oil and dry gas. Corrected oil saturation indexes of the mudstones show that the formation has no potentially producible oil possibly due to their hybrid and fractured oil. XRD whole rock analyses suggest that these carbonate mudstones are comprised of 85–100% calcite and dolomite, 0–5% quartz, and 0–10% clay.
