Abstract
Summary The present report deals with two interesting but less familiar roentgen patterns of pulmonary sarcoidosis, the multinodular and multicystic. The former consists of multiple large nodules simulating those of malignant pulmonary metastases. The multicystic type is probably a complication of the fibrotic stage of sarcoidosis, the cysts representing emphysematous bullae and bronchiectatic cavities. The clinical and roentgen features encountered in a group of five cases presenting the multinodular and nine cases showing the multicystic pattern are described and their importance in differential diagnosis emphasized. Criteria are set forth which should suggest the diagnosis of sarcoidosis in such cases.
