Abstract

Over the years, the Dartmouth College Library has provided a venue for artists and performers at the college. The library supports and partners in many ways with student and renowned visiting artists, collaborates on museum installations in the library and across the campus, and supports the curriculum, college conferences, and special events with artistic displays using materials from its collections. The evolving partnerships provide the library with a new role to enliven the arts on campus, give student artists and performance groups a place to showcase their talents, and offer the wider college community the opportunity to begin a dialogue about how the arts, all of their forms, relate to their daily lives.
