Abstract

Uncertainty. Each prior change in organ allocation has been anticipated with uncertainty and fears of a system break down. Yet the literature on changes to organ allocation policy in the last decade; for liver - Share MELD 35 and concentric circles, for kidney - the Kidney Allocation System and Simultaneous Liver and Kidney Allocation, the lung allocation score and the six-tiered heart allocation system, largely demonstrate that these changes achieved their objectives with minimum disruption.
