Abstract

The slab model for pulse transient technique accounting heat capacity of the heat source as well as the heat transfer coefficient in between the heat source and specimen has been used. Uncertainty analysis of the slab model has been done for real measurements conducted on the carbonate stone. The thermophysical parameters were calculated for the case when thermal conductive paste containing silicone oil was not used. The oil penetrates into the porous material and thus changing its properties during the measurement. In this paper we analyzed the quality of the temperature response fit in dependency of heat transfer coefficient and heat capacity of the heat source. The analysis of the sensitivity coefficients and calculated uncertainties of estimated parameters with slab model help to improve the accuracy of parameters estimation. In the fitting procedure we replaced free parameter of heat capacity of the heat source by constant value which was calculated from the material properties of heat source components, e.g. the nickel and Kapton. The fit results obtained by slab model were compared with the data obtained by the cuboid model [1].
