Abstract

Abstract: In this intimate memoir, former American Philosophical Society manuscripts librarian J. Stephen Catlett interweaves personal and family stories with memories from his career as an archivist at institutions including the APS and the Greensboro Historical Museum. In so doing, Catlett shares what he has learned from his diverse experiences among voices from the past, and how this work helped him make sense of both his own life and his mother's.
