Abstract
A new species of Croton from the Col- ombian Guayana is described and illustrated as Croton araracuarae. By virtue of its stellate pubes- cence, entire stipules, and especially by the evident space between the staminate and pistillate flowers, it belongs to section Podostachys, even though it has bifid styles and pinnate leaf venation. It is dif- ferentiated from the other members of the section by its entire, narrowly lanceolate leaves and by the sessile glands at the apex of the petioles.
