Abstract
Chrysobothris (Chrysobothris) fallax sp. nov., collected from dry ecosystems of northwestern Peru is described and illustrated. The species has been confused with Chrysobothris (C.) acutipennis Chevrolat from which it can be distinguished by the form of the tooth on the profemora and the male genitalia. Comments on its ecology and distribution in the country are provided.
