Abstract
Bioassays using the green algae Selenastrum capricornutum Printz were conducted on wastewaters from two drainage basins on the Island of Montréal, Québec, Canada. Metal concentrations present in the wastewaters produced toxicity to the algal cultures, demonstrating that such a procedure is useful in determining the toxic activity of wastewaters.
