Abstract

A study lead amongst leisure studies graduates of an Acadian university program show, amongst others, that the majority of them work always in recreational facilities. More than one out of two respondents was offered an employment in less than a month after s/he has finished his/her studies. The salaries of men are superior to those of women. The same tendency is observed for the non‐specialists in recreation who are better remunerated than the recreation specialists. Moreover, we note that the women's GPA (grade point average) in the course of studies is higher than that of men. Professional responsibilities involve mainly administrative and management tasks. Finally, there exists an interest in obtaining the master's degree amongst the recreation specialists.
