Abstract

Presentation of a new, finely carved relief from Palmyra, now preserved among the holdings of the Musée des Beaux- Arts in Lyon (France). The upper part consists of a carving of four deities and two animals; the dedicatory inscription below, dated 432 i.e. AD 121, is engraved in Palmyrenian. This relief provides new and fascinating evidence for the study of Palmyrenian religion.
