Un’identità in movimento: l’Europa come rivoluzione permanente

Abstract

The long term research is important for exploring the future of the European society, but today the public use of the history is in crisis, because other sciences prevail, the sciences “without time”. On the contrary, the history shows as men and societies move and change themselves and they don’t have roots in respect of the trees. In the last years, the troubled search for the roots has been the most evident symbol of a pathology in the service of the power. The European and West history shows as fil rouge a permanent revolution. In fact, the West, as Weber argued, has the use of the reason as its main character: the synthesis of reason and technique for the elaboration of projects and the modification of nature and society made Europe the first laboratory of the modernity. This in the condition for the change, the revolution, but also for the secularization and the exclusion of the sacred, the tension between the State and the Church, the development of a twice-natured rules, moral and positive and the weave between economic and politic power. The last page of this revolution in the dissolution of the constitutive cathegories of the modernity: the progress, the nation-state, the culture, the religion, the country as the base of our collective identity. The analysis conclude also with the definition of the new role of the law in the societies of the complexity: it is always present and regulate each aspect of social life.
