Abstract
A29-year-old Hispanic woman presented with bleeding from her umbilicus. No lesions could be observed due to the bleeding, and the patient gave an obscure history of when the bleeding began and if it was associated with her menstrual periods. Other than an increased body mass index, physical examination, laboratory results and pelvic ultrasound examination were normal. She had no complaints of pelvic pain or dyspareunia. The patient returned several months later without bleeding. Examination of the umbilicus revealed a small friable gelatinous mass (Figure 1A, arrow) at the right inferior border deep within the umbilicus. Subsequent biopsy demonstrated histological evidence of stratified endometrial glands and stroma (Figure 1B, at×10 magnification).
