Abstract

From a historical and sociological reading is intended to describe the design of women's ministry within the existing power relations in Brazilian Pentecostalism, especially in the Assembly of God Church. It seeks to present how to establish the relations of power in its internal structure and the conception of women's ministry, from the missionary work developed by Frida Vingren. Concomitantly, it auscultates the decisions of the General Conventions on this subject. Favoring the constituent elements and internal and external factors that enabled the organization in a hierarchical way that this church has, emphasizing sociological analysis of the specific structure of the Pentecostal religion. It is also proposed to analyze this system of government in light of Foucault's conception of power. The conflict and struggle for the establishment and maintenance of power / domination and the establishment and maintenance of women's autonomy is the power relations in Pentecostalism a central category of analysis in this article.
