Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine women’s participation in the technology industry, using a qualitative and exploratory approach to understand the complex dynamics of this scenario. The central objective is to capture a variety of aspects, perspectives, and experiences through qualitative data, providing a richer and deeper understanding than would be possible with isolated quantitative metrics. Employing a hypothetical-deductive method, the research begins with the formulation of theoretical hypotheses based on existing literature, which are subsequently tested empirically. This process allows for robust conclusions to be drawn about the role, participation, and impact of women in the technology sector, as well as identifying systemic barriers and facilitators of their inclusion. Additionally, the study seeks to shed light on the specific challenges faced by women, the emerging opportunities that can be leveraged, and the significant contributions they make to this vital and ever-evolving field. By offering a detailed and contextualized analysis, the study aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, industry leaders, and educators, helping to promote a more inclusive and equitable environment in technology. Ultimately, this study not only aims to map the current state of female participation in technology but also to contribute to the creation of effective strategies that promote diversity and inclusion, ensuring that women’s voices and experiences are fully integrated into the ongoing development of this dynamic sector.
