Abstract

A SKYLARK rocket payload (SL 1111) with a three-axis attitude stabilisation system and instrumentation for high resolution stellar spectroscopy was launched at Woomera, South Australia, at 1030 UT on June 16,1973. The flight was entirely successful, all of the vehicle systems operating correctly and enabling the instrumentation to record high quality ultraviolet spectra of the selected target stars, γ2 Velorum and ζ Puppis.
