Abstract

A technique is described for the treatment of chronic skin ulcers. The technique is based on the (1) direct and indirect bactericidal effect of ultra-violet rays, (2) power of the rays to produce erythema, and (3) on their power to stimulate epithelialisation. Cases of widely differing aetiology successfully treated by this technique are described. The technique can be modified for the treatment of ulcers on mucous membranes.
