Abstract
The carp islet tissues are fixed with three kinds of fixation procedures (fixation with our modification of Dalton's fixative, with phosphate buffered osmium tetroxide and with glutaraldehyde followed by postosmication) and examined by electron microscopy and by correlative survey of consecutive thin and thick sections for electron and light microscopy. The results are as follows. 1. The islet tissues of the carp contain four types of glandular cells; A, B, clear and D cells. 2. It is strongly suggested that the clear cell is a variety of the B cell.
