Abstract

Purpose to monitor the effectiveness of Mongolian ghee treatment in patients with chronic constipation by ultrasound over some period of time Materials & Methods the survey was conducted at Tsetsjin clinic from 2017 to 2018. In total, were involved 128 patients with chronic constipation and aged between 18-58 years. All patients treated only with Mongolian ghee, not medicines. Ultrasound examination carried out by a single-stage transabdominal ultrasound colonography with per oral contrasting (specific method invented by us - Tsetsegee's Method). The gastrointestinal tract is filled with 3000-3500 ml saline water using special Mongolian exercises. Ultrasonography performed when the gastrointestinal tract is fully cleaned. We used ultrasound system 3.5-5.0 MHz Convex, and Linear 7.5-13 MHz probes. Results We have identified the characteristics of large intestine in patients with chronic constipation: • The diameter of large intestine was expanded (from 4.9 ± 0,25 mm up to 54.1 ± 1.02 mm), • The wall thickness of large intestine was thickened (from 3.04 ± 0.12 to 4.28 ± 0.78). But after Mongolian ghee treatment intake, these dimensions were normalized 99% (p ≤ 0.005). Conclusion the ultrasound is important to monitor the effectiveness of patients with chronic constipation after taking the ghee treatment.
