Ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy of internal mammary nodes: technique and preliminary results in breast cancer patients.

Abstract

The objective of our study was to describe our technique and preliminary results of ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (FNA) of indeterminate internal mammary (IM) lymph nodes in patients with a history of breast cancer. Ultrasound-guided FNA of IM nodes is feasible and is particularly useful in the staging of breast cancer.
