Abstract

ABSTRACTThree cases of multiple amoebic liver abscess causing obstructive jaundice, demonstrated on ultrasound have been presented. The cause of obstruction in all three cases was the pressure effect of the abscess cavity at the hilum of the liver. The role of ultrasound in the diagnosis of obstructive jaundice in cases of amoebic liver abscess is stressed.
