Abstract
The present work aims to fabricate ultrasonic assisted microencapsulation of zinc triflate based on polyethersulfone (PES) as an efficient regioselective catalyst for Friedel-Crafts acylation. The catalyst was reused for consequent reactions. Ultrasound displayed an important role on selectivity for Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction due to the controlled release of Lewis acid in addition to its cavitational effect that decreases the reaction time and increases the yield of the reaction.
