Abstract
A method is described for the use of ultrasound as a guide in obtaining biopsy specimens by means of percutaneous puncture. The method is based on the use of a transducer with a central perforation canal, through which the puncture or biopsy needle can be introduced. A discussion is provided of the advantages of this method, together with the uncertainty involved.
