Abstract

The work presents the results of a comparative study of the macro- and microstructure of the samples of welded joints of rolled steel of 09G2S (ASTM A516) steel, obtained as a result of laser welding and ultrasonic-assisted laser welding. It is analyzed geometric parameters, macro- and microstructure of welds, welded joints in relation to the mechanical properties of samples obtained by laser welding, as well as laser welding under conditions of different ultrasonic impact. Results of studies showed that the imposition of ultrasonic action on the laser welding process leads to an increase in the depth of penetration, prevents the formation of pores and decreases the probability other defects welded joints.
