Abstract

As recently researches show that many fields for three-dimensional surfaces producing, such as aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding, vehicle body, pressure vessel formation, sheet forming processes are commonly used. As the most usually sheet forming way, stamping springback is also an unavoidable phenomenon. In Multi Point Forming, the springback with ultrasonic forming method can evidently be reduced. In this paper, the mechanism of reducing the springback by the ultrasonic vibration forming method is mainly discussed. Through the numerical simulation software ANSYS/ABAQUS and the ultrasonic vibration forming tests of typical samples, ultrasonic vibration’s effect on the reducing of springback is studied. The springback obtained by theoretical derivation and numerical simulation is consistent with the experimental results.
