Abstract
The initial clinical results and potential applications of a miniaturized, battery powered and hand-held ultrasonic imaging device are described. Tests performed in 60 patients on the general cardiology, obstetrics/gynaecology and internal medicine wards demonstrated that good imaging quality and diagnostic information could be obtained on a small display tube.
