Abstract

Stereoselectivity ( meso/ dl ratio) of the hydrodimers (HDs) formed in cathodic reduction of acetophenones was greatly affected by ultrasonic irradiation with power higher than an ultrasonic cavitation threshold in weakly acidic solutions, while such an ultrasonic effect on stereocontrol was not observed in either strongly acidic or alkaline solutions.
