Abstract

Ultrasound velocity and attenuation anomalies in single-phase (Bi 1− x Pb x ) 2Sr 2Ca 2Cu 3O y ( x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) superconducting samples were observed near 110 and 220 K. The isothermal-like anomalous changes at 220 K indicate that there are possible structural changes or phase transitions in the samples. The velocity changes near 110 K may be attributed to the transition temperature T c .
