Abstract

A sensitive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor has been developed for the determination of permethrin based on iron oxide nanomaterials (Fe2O3) and Au nanoparticles (Au NPs). The ECL response of luminol/O2 system is enhanced obviously due to the synergy effect between Fe2O3 and Au NPs. The possible mechanism of ECL phenomenon is studied. Furthermore, the ECL emission increases with adding permethrin, and the determination of permethrin could be achieved by monitoring the ECL intensity. Under the optimal conditions, the novel ECL sensor achieved an efficient detection of permethrin range from 2.6 × 10−9 mol L−1 to 4.3 × 10−5 mol L−1 with a detection limit of 8.7 × 10−10 mol L−1. The proposed strategy can provide a simple and reliable approach for determining of permethrin, indicating that it has great application prospects in pesticide detection.
