Einzelstrang-DNA-Sequenzen lassen sich mithilfe eines Systems aus Nicking-Endonuclease und Nanopartikeln besser nachweisen (siehe Schema). Bestimmte Oligonucleotide sind binnen Stunden in Konzentrationen von nur 0.5 fmol kolorimetrisch detektierbar. Der Nachweis von DNA-Sequenzen mit einer abweichenden Base oder unterscheidlicher Länge ist auch möglich. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
